Myself holding a electric guitar

One of the moments that changed my life was when I first started playing the guitar. This was during 2020, peak of the quarantine and all I was doing was scrolling on Tik Tok and other social media platforms. I felt what I was doing wasn't productive at all and I decided to delete Tik Tok and start playing the guitar. The first song I could ever play was Bad Moon Rising by Creedence Clearwater Revival and I remember having a difficult time with that one. Now, that song is very easy and it's awesome to see my improvement within the last 3 years.

I have the most important advice to anyone who wants to learn the guitar and it is... Practice. Haha anyone can say that but it's the truth and if you really love it, you keep practicing because you genuinely want to get better. I noticed a big shift in my playing when I moved to Texas State my freshman year. A reason for this is because I roomed with Chris at Bobcat Village and there, we were able to practice all the time together. We still regularly practice together but we would really like to meet a drummer or another musician that shares the same love for 70's rock-n-roll as we do.

Since I started playing guitar, I have learned a lot about myself and I'm proud of the work I've put into something that I never thought I could do. Before I could play, I had no rhythm whatsoever, but after I kept practicing, I began to create a sense of rhythm within myself. Recently, I've begun writing my own songs and lyrics which is a lot of fun to do. I love to write poetry and it's the only way for me to write down the thoughts I'm feeling in a mysterious elegant way. Music is a big part of my life and I'm excited to keep growing as an artist.
